Its Over!

Well another summer term has come and gone and many students and sighing due to only one week in between summer and fall term. In CD land, we have come to the end of something that has changed every persons life that were a part of it. We have completed CD 315 in 10 weeks during the summer!!! All I can say is it's time to set back, relax and enjoy the work I have completed and the little bit of vacation I have left. Before I reviewed my work, I reviewed myself and thought about where I was on June 10th and where I am August 16. Well, I have to say that I am definitely a lot better at HTML than I was in the beginning. Also, I am a better expressionist through my writings than before. I have learned to let loose what is on my mind and not to worry about what others think. In a class where you rarely have face to face interaction, it is important to let your personality shine through your writings. This allows other to get to know you better and possibly shed some light to your own eyes as to how you are percieved by others. Upon reviewing my work before writing this final journal entry, I began to develop the big head because I am truly proud of my work this summer. Not only am I proud of what I have done, but what my classmates have completed as well. We cannot just gloat in our own work, but realize that it was a group effort to complete this task. When you look back at all the cries for help on email and the sudden occurrence of a web page for someone's topic in an email, you see a team effort. I have been told I perform best on an individual level. However, after being apart of this virtual learning community I think I can work in both settings, but really prefer the group help. I am proud of all the parts of my MRP because they each seem to flow from one to the other and keep the central theme I was shooting for in the week of June 10th. Not only am I proud of my work, but I am proud of myself and what I have found out about my inner self and possible future. In writing my reflection for the whole MRP, I realized that from the getgo I was thinking of others and what I could do for others to improve their quality of life and ensure them adequate services. Little did I realize that this was an attribute hidden deep within the the caves of my personality. I always hear that you have to look out for number one and never let your feelings override your actions. Yet, with the completion of this class, I am proud to have realized that you can do both of those things and still help people and yourself. The one item that lead me to that conclusion was when you have an idea that you think is yours and no one else has thought of it, someone else has actually already pursued a certain part of that idea and its up to you to put your part in. I know it sounds weird, but when you think about it we are all just players in this world and players depend on each other to get the game won. So I feel that I can look out for number one by doing all I can in research and writing to help others through my work. Tips to Future Multigenre Explorers ~I think everyone this summer has gave this tip, but I feel I must add it too. DO ALL WORK IN WORD AND SAVE IT. With an internet class you can never be to safe when it comes to your work and deadlines ~A final tip would be to not be non-personable and non-active in the group. If you have a problem ask your peers. Chances are that problem has already happened to someone else an they may not ask the question you need an answer to. Your instructor can not help you unless you show you need help. ... Link

Well its week nine and it was so good to see everyone at the Marshall Cafe on Tuesday. I really got to talk about some things on my mind and the food was the best part! This week has been pretty busy. I worked, took my client to the TOOL concert, which was an experience in itself. I also had to work on my truck all day Saturday, but its in fine running condition now. Now as we are winding down, my nerves begin to really get on edge because this time next week Mrs. McComas will have graded our projects and sentenced us to our deaths! HAHA. Yet, in all reality when any class comes to an end everyone gets nervous about their grades and lose sight of what all they have accomplished that term. Therefore, I vow to myself not to worry over my grade, but rather gloat in the fact that I have learned and accomplished so much this summer with this class. Frankly, if you have come this far in the CD program at Marshall, then we should really be focusing on what we can learn and apply rather than our grades. That has been a hard learned lesson for me. I have had some trouble out of antville today. It doesnt seem to want to publish my entire reflection, but only pieces of it. So, I have emailed Mrs. McComas, but still no reply. Yet, no worries. I have the original copy saved in email so if she wants it then I have it. YAH!!!! I fixed it. I took some time away from my journal to try to fix it and I did. Yay for me! Anyway, I believe that everyone deserves a great round of applause for keeping up with the assignments, researching them and then finalizing them on the web for millions to see. As I was finalizing my links throuhg my project I realized that not only was I learning but also having fun this summer doing all this internet and computer work. It seems when you do something with your hands it sticks with you rather than having someone tell you everything you need to know and then you dont have any experience. Those situations are for the birds. Finally, I would just like to call everyone to look back at June 10 and look at August 11 and see what all we have done. It almost seems like yesterday we were in the library learning about the databases. Now we are about to end summer and go to fall classes. Just simply remarkable. See you guys this fall!!! ... Link
Week 8-Not much new

Well it is the end of week 8 and week 10 is inching ever so closer. As I look back, I see my face as I began to read the syllabus and instructions for some of the assignments for this class. Now I see myself as a better student because of the work load and demands of this self-disciplinary class. I have mostly slept this week after coming off of a 48-hour continuous shift from saturday until tuesday night. I think I slept a total of 6 hours in that 4 day span. I hope I never have to do that again. I have been drained all week. Also, I have been working on my fathers ministry website and posting some sermons for the public to view. However, I am not crying because I love my job and I actually like to work as much as possible through the week. Just dont ask me to work on the weekends. That is my time to do with it what I see fit! HAHA This week on the MOO was interesting for me, to say the least. The visitors we had in our group this week were total jerks and were not interested in what we had done, but rather what they had accomplished and hitting people with newspapers! I tried to whisper to Andrea to see if she thought that one of them was being a jerk, but instead it posted to the entire room. From there I had to regain my composure and act like I wanted her to see it, which actually worked out quite well in that I think it put her in her place, at least for 1 minute. Yet, after reading others journal entries in my group, I now see that the feeling was mutual and I should not feel bad for my actions. To tell the truth I really didnt feel bad because deep inside I wanted her to know how I felt about her actions and her type of conversation. Oh well, we live, laugh and love! Well, its off to church and then dessert with my family. My mother came down this weekend and she is a neat freak. Good thing I cleaned before she came or I probably wouldnt have the fingers left to type these assignments. OK. Im gone. See you guys next week! ... Link |
