Assignment 2.3.5: Inquiry and Literacy
boma80
04:20h
Prompt: How can you utilize each ‘R’ to its fullest potential and yet combine all 3 to achieve a cohesive inquiry into literacy.
Reading, writing and research seem to be three terms that, when I was first introduced to them, I left out of my vocabulary. Usually in high school I went directly to the writing part in order to achieve the grade and not the knowledge. However, now that I am pursuing a lifelong career that utilizes continuing education and research as intricate weaves in its makeup, I find myself doing a lot of reading and research before writing. Let’s look at reading first. If a person cannot read or has trouble processing what they read, then the other two are of none avail because, generally, or knowledge base is not as big as it could be if we read about topics before writing and researching. Second, verbally explaining our ideas all the time could get pretty monotonous and some people probably don’t like our voices, others think we cannot pull a topic together with just our ability to talk. Therefore, we must incorporate the art of writing into our literacy. Finally, research comes from the two previously mentioned topics. You read, develop a writing prompt, then eventually research that prompt and write again. Therefore, the intricate will of inquiry spins perfectly with the right balance of reading, writing and research. Also reading others writings leads us to research more on that topic or it triggers a new topic for us to research. So I guess the ultimate outcome of inquire and reading and writing is RESEARCH. However, if you look backwards at this topic, when we research first, that includes initially, reading, and then writing. So I guess it is like the word pop…no matter which way you write it, it still spells pop. So is this topic of inquiry. No matter which way you look at the three individual topics, they all are needed to execute inquiry. Whew…If you don’t understand that, don’t feel bad… I think I lost track somewhere. Hehe Until next time.. ... Link (0 comments) ... Comment
